Little Village community organizers, parents, and students will discuss their fight to ensure public school education is well- resourced, high-quality, and accessible to all. Topics to be discussed include immigration, high-stakes testing, and what researchers can do to assist culturally and linguistically diverse communities of color.

Featured Community Panelists:
Ms. Sandra Mendez is a former CPS employee of 28-years. As a parent of a son who is a senior at Social Justice High School, she is a highly involved community member. This is her third year serving as the chairperson of the Advisory Local School Council for Social Justice High School. She also is a member of the Parent Involvement Advisory Board (PIAB). Mendez is highly supportive of diverse learners.
Ms. Dolores Castaneda obtained her Psychology and Teaching degrees in Mexico. Her daughter attended Whitney Young High School. She is involved with Enlace and Parents and Youth.
Ms. Guadalupe Ramirez is a junior at Infinity Math, Science & Technology High School. Currently she serves on the Mayoral Youth Commission (MYC). Ramirez plans on attending college and majoring in Early Childhood Education.
Fanny Diego & Katya Nugues are Enlace Chicago Representatives.
